Apple Banana Baked Oats

This recipe is for 9 month old baby & up

If your little one isn’t really into a breakfast oatmeal bowl, or they like to self-feed, you have to try these Apple Banana Baked Oats!

Apple banana baked oats are a delicious and nutritious breakfast or snack option for kids, combining the sweetness of ripe bananas with the comforting flavor of cinnamon apples. This dish is not only tasty but also packed with essential nutrients. They are allergen friendly, being egg-free, dairy-free, nut-free and gluten-free. Breakfast is often referred to as the most important meal of the day, and apple banana baked oats fit the bill perfectly. This dish is rich in fiber, vitamins, and minerals that help fuel your body and brain for the day ahead. For busy mornings, this dish is a convenient make-ahead option. You can easily prepare a batch the night before, and it will be ready to serve in the morning. Excellent for meal-prepping and freezer friendly. They are very easy to make, putting all your ingredients in one bowl and baking until deliciously soft, moist & golden brown, top it off with your favorite yogurt and for older kids a drizzle of honey, absolute perfection!

 

How to Serve:

9 month baby & up- Cut into smaller pieces

Toddler- Serve it to them whole

Add some yogurt or coconut yogurt on the side. For 12 months and up you can drizzle some honey or date syrup.

 

Substitutions:

Applesauce- If you don’t have applesauce you can add extra apples

Non-dairy milk- You can use whichever milk you prefer, like cow milk, almond milk, oat milk, coconut milk, etc.

 

What you need:

a 8×8 or 9×9 square baking pan

Ingredients

Adjust Servings
1 ripe banana
1 apple (skin off for younger babies)
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 cup non-dairy milk I like to use almond milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cup instant oats You can use rolled oats, but the reason I use instant is for their thinner texture
1 tsp baking powder
Dash of cinnamon

Directions

Mash banana and shred apple
Mark as complete

Add apple, banana to bowl along with applesauce, milk, vanilla, oats baking powder, cinnamon and mix together
Mark as complete

Add to 8x8 or 9x9 baking dish
Mark as complete

Bake on 350 F for 25 min
Mark as complete

Let cool for 15 min before cutting in
Best served with yogurt or coconut yogurt
Mark as complete

Notes

Storage instructions- can refrigerate for 1-2 days or freeze for up to 1 month
