Cinnamon Apple Zucchini Puree: A Nutritious, Delicious Puree for Babies 6 months & up

When starting solids, I was always looking for different, fun, tasty combinations of fruit and veggies for my little one and this one did not disappoint. The apple brings sweetness, while the zucchini balances it out and top it off with cinnamon and ground flaxseeds for an extra boost in nutrition and you have yourself a tasty, wholesome puree for your baby.

This puree is gentle on the stomach and promotes healthy digestion and bowel movements, so if your little one needs a little help going to the bathroom this can definitely help get things moving! Apples and zucchini have high fiber and water content and can help keep baby hydrated, also providing you with Vitamins A, C and K. The flaxseeds promote healthy digestion as well, along with Omega-3, B Vitamins, copper, zinc, iron, selenium & more. This puree is really simple, easy to make and great for baby’s overall growth and development.

Why Cinnamon Apple Zucchini Puree with Flax?

  1. Nutritional Benefits:
    • Apples: A staple in baby food, apples are rich in vitamin C and fiber, supporting digestion and boosting immunity.
    • Zucchini: This mild vegetable is a good source of vitamins A and C, as well as water content, which helps with hydration and digestion.
    • Flaxseed: Packed with omega-3 fatty acids, lignans, and fiber, flaxseed supports brain development and keeps the digestive system healthy.
    • Cinnamon: While optional, cinnamon adds a gentle warmth and enhances flavor, introducing your baby to new taste experiences.
  2. Naturally Sweet and Balanced:
The natural sweetness of apples pairs beautifully with the mild flavor of zucchini, creating a well-balanced puree. Adding a hint of cinnamon elevates the flavor, making it more enjoyable for babies.
  3. Smooth and Easy to Eat:
This puree has a velvety texture that’s easy for babies to swallow and digest, making it ideal for those just starting on solids or transitioning to new foods.

What you need:

Steamer and blender- I like to use my babycook for faster cooking. It is a steamer and blender all in 1.
