Tip:

For younger babies try and find a small-shaped pasta. I like to use ones called Filini or Fideo, I’ve noticed they are the easiest for babies to chew and swallow, making the meal more enjoyable for them.

For toddlers and up you can use any pasta you prefer.

 

Substitutions:

Pasta- I like to use 100% semolina pasta, but it can be swapped with a gluten-free one, like red lentil pasta, chickpea pasta, brown rice pasta, etc.

Avocado- I don’t recommend substituting the avocado here, since it is the star of the show.

Basil-  Same for the basil, I don’t recommend swapping it with anything.

 

What you need:

Large Pot 

Small Blender

Ingredients

Adjust Servings
3/4 cup small pasta
1/2 avocado
A couple of basil leaves
1 tsp olive oil
1/8 tsp garlic powder
1/2 cup reserved pasta water
Optional
Small squirt lemon (To preserve sauce)

Directions

Boil pasta for 8-9 min
Mark as complete

In the meantime add avocado, basil, olive oil, lemon, garlic powder, pasta water in small blender and blend until creamy
Mark as complete

When pastas ready add the sauce, mix and enjoy!

Notes

Storage instructions- can refrigerate for up to 2 days, I don't recommend freezing this dish
