This recipe is for 9 month baby & up
Baby-friendly Bolognese Pasta is one of the favorites on the blog and with good reason! It is the perfect dinner or lunch idea for babies, toddlers, older kids, or adults, that everyone can enjoy together. Baby-friendly Bolognese Pasta is a wholesome, nutrient-packed version of the classic Italian meat sauce, crafted to suit the needs of babies and toddlers. While traditional Bolognese can be too rich or heavily seasoned for young palates, a baby-friendly adaptation keeps all the goodness of the original but with mild flavors, smooth textures, and essential nutrients tailored for early eaters. This kid-friendly meal is an excellent way to introduce a variety of vegetables, lean proteins, and iron-rich ingredients into your baby’s diet, supporting healthy growth and development.
I noticed with ground beef, it’s a little tricky for babies to chew, so I had to find a dish that Zion can chew properly and enjoy it, while getting the benefits of beef. The beef is cooked to perfection and blended into the sauce, making it easier for little one’s to chew and swallow. If your little one is having a hard time chewing beef, this is a great recipe you can start with. High quality beef is so important for babies, it is rich in protein, iron, zinc, choline, supporting their growth and development, while the tomato aids in maximum iron absorption.
How To Serve:
For 9-12 month baby: I recommend hand blending the meat sauce with a little extra, to make sure baby can fully enjoy the meal.
For 12 months & up: Mash the beef with a beef masher, no need to blend the sauce and omit the extra cup of water.
