If you are looking for easy, quick, kid-friendly dinner ideas that the whole family can enjoy together, these Kid-Friendly Chicken Fajitas are a must try! This recipe is honestly one of my favorites on the blog, I was always a big fan of fajitas, especially ordering them in a restaurant as a little girl, I remember the pan coming out sizzling hot and you see all the juices of the chicken with the veggies and a side of those soft yummy tortillas, it is just so good! So of course I had to make a kid-friendly version, that everyone can enjoy together. What’s great about this meal, it comes together in less than 30 minutes and each person can pick whichever toppings they prefer. You can wrap everything in a tortilla or make yourself a fajita rice bowl, either way it’s going to be delicious!
Chicken fajitas are a wholesome, versatile dish that brings the family together. They’re an easy to prepare meal that combines flavorful ingredients with fun, hands-on eating. Perfect for busy weeknight dinners, fajitas can be easily customized to suit picky eaters while providing a balanced and nutritious meal. The vibrant colors and delicious flavors make chicken fajitas appealing to kids, and the interactive nature of assembling their own wraps adds an element of excitement to mealtime.
Why Kid-Friendly Chicken Fajitas?
Chicken fajitas are not only delicious but also packed with nutrients that growing children need. Chicken is an excellent source of lean protein, essential for building strong muscles and supporting overall growth. When paired with colorful bell peppers and onions, fajitas provide fiber, vitamins, and minerals like vitamin C and iron. The combination of flavors and textures introduces kids to a variety of tastes in one dish, helping expand their palates in an enjoyable way.
This meal is a kid-friendly dinner idea that the whole family can share together and is made in under 30 minutes.
How to Serve:
To make chicken fajitas kid-friendly, serve the components family-style. Place the chicken, vegetables, tortillas, and toppings in separate bowls, allowing kids to build their own fajitas. This interactive approach empowers them to choose their favorite ingredients, making them more likely to eat and enjoy the meal.
For baby, use a divided plate and put small pieces of chicken, small pieces of tortillas, a little bit of onion and bell peppers along with some guacamole or my Baby-Friendly Avocado Crema.
Different Toppings for Kid-Friendly Chicken Fajitas:
- Onions & bell peppers
- Cheese
- Salsa
- Guacamole or Avocado Crema
- Sour Cream
What you need:
I like to use a Cast Iron Pot when cooking chicken, I think it cooks it best and doesn’t dry it out. You can use any large pan that you prefer.
