Olive oil broccoli pasta is a simple, healthy, and delicious meal that’s perfect for babies, toddlers, and kids. This wholesome dish combines nutrient-rich broccoli with the healthy fats of olive oil and the comforting texture of pasta, making it a well-balanced meal that’s not only easy to prepare but also packed with essential vitamins and minerals. This beautiful dish, delicious meal combines tender pasta with the wholesome goodness of broccoli and the subtle flavors of olive oil. It is made by cooking small pasta shapes, such as mini shells or I use one called Filini or Fideo noodles, until they are soft enough for babies & toddlers to chew. Fresh broccoli florets are cooked until tender and then finely chopped or mashed to ensure they are easy for little ones to handle and digest. The cooked pasta and broccoli are then tossed together with a drizzle of high-quality olive oil, which adds healthy fats and a mild, fruity flavor.

 

This meal is rich in essential nutrients: broccoli provides vitamins C and K, fiber, and antioxidants, while olive oil offers healthy fats crucial for brain development. The pasta serves as a good source of energy and is gentle on a baby’s digestive system. Olive Oil Broccoli Pasta is very versatile, you can add whatever protein you and baby prefer such as chicken, shrimp, any type of fish, and add other seasonings you like. I like to serve mine with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese and an extra drizzle of olive oil.

 

What you need:

Any deep medium size pan or pot will work. I like to use my Our Place, non-stick, non-toxic pan, made with no forever chemicals.

Substitutions:

Pasta- You can use whichever pasta you prefer, for example red lentil pasta, chickpea pasta, whole grain pasta, etc.

Broccoli- The broccoli can be replaced with another veggie of choice.

Olive oil- You can substitute with grass-fed butter

Ingredients

Optional- Omit for younger babies

Directions

  1. Boil pasta for 8-9 min until ready
  1. In the meantime add generous amount of olive oil to heated pan with garlic and broccoli
  1. Add about 4 tbsp of water and cover on medium heat for 15 min until soft
  1. Mash well and add salt, black pepper and a little pasta water
  1. Add cooked pasta and mix
  1. Serve with a little parmesan or a drizzle of olive oil
