This recipe is for 7 month baby & up
I’m always searching new dinner ideas for toddlers or dinner ideas for my 1 year old and this one comes out perfect every time!
One Pot Chicken & Peas is a yummy, tasty family-friendly meal. A lot of time we forget to take care of ourselves and we tend to feed everyone else around us and we can be the last ones to eat, these dishes ensure we are getting the proper nutrients we need, along with baby. If you or your little one likes peas, this incredible dinner dish comes out amazing. Made with minimal, clean, healthy ingredients, you really can’t go wrong with it.
This dish combines tender pieces of chicken with sweet peas and mild seasonings, all cooked in a single pot for easy preparation and cleanup. The chicken is lightly seasoned and sautéed until golden brown, then simmered with fresh or frozen peas until everything is tender and infused with flavor. This meal is rich in protein and iron from the chicken, which is essential for muscle growth and repair, and the peas provide fiber, vitamins A and C, and a sweet, appealing taste that babies love.
How to serve:
Depending on what age your little one is
6 month baby: you can puree
8 month baby: you can mash
10 month baby: you can serve small pieces of chicken and mash the peas a little
For toddlers and up: you can leave as is and best served over mashed potatoes
Substitutions:
Chicken thighs: I personally like to use bone-in chicken thighs because I feel like they come out the softest and most tender, but you can use other pieces of the chicken, for example drumsticks. Chicken breast will be the least tender.
Peas: You can substitute the green peas with another veggie or legume, for example chickpeas, or for a veggie option you can put carrots, zucchini, broccoli, etc.
Onion: I don’t recommend replacing the onion in this recipe
