Baby Banana Bread

Baby Banana Bread pinit

This recipe is for 9+ months

There are weeks that we go through so many bananas in our house, and then there are weeks that they just sit on the counter until they get too brown to eat and those are the weeks that we end up making this delicious, healthy, beautiful baby banana bread. The more ripe your bananas, the sweeter your loaf will be. I don’t add any added sugar, the natural sweetness of the bananas are perfect as is. If you do like it a little sweeter, you can add maple syrup, date syrup or for older kids chocolate chips.

This Baby Banana Bread comes out very soft, moist and is excellent for little one’s that are transitioning to solids or doing baby-led weaning. It can be served as a yummy treat, snack or even breakfast, along with some yogurt and fruit. Goes great in school lunchboxes, or an easy toddler snack idea. I love how easy it is to make, all your ingredients mixed in one bowl, and baked into pure, yummy, perfection. Baby Banana Bread is just as yummy as all banana bread, but is texture friendly. It is very versatile, so if your kiddos are toddlers or a little older you can add in any toppings you like, chocolate chips, walnuts, etc. or you can top it off with your favorite nut and seed butter for some extra healthy fats. No matter what it is always a favorite. Hope you guys like it as much as we do!

Substitutions:

Flour- If you don’t have almond flour you can put 1 1/4 cups of all-purpose instead of 1 cup or to make fully gluten free you can add 2 cups of almond flour.

You can also make this with white whole wheat flour, whole wheat, spelt or oat flour

Eggs- You can substitute the eggs with flax eggs or replace with applesauce

Non-dairy milk- For this you can use any milk you’d like, almond milk, soy milk, oat milk, pea milk or cow milk.

How to Serve:

For 9+ months baby- you can serve in small pieces along side fruit

For toddlers- you can serve a full slice with a little butter on top for extra healthy fats, along side berries

Came out perfect! We drizzled almond butter on top for my little one.

Can I use coconut flour instead of almond flour?

I haven’t tested this recipe with coconut flour, but I believe it will come out more dense. Better to mix two flours together like coconut flour and almond flour. Let me know how it goes, hope it comes out good!
