Sweet Potato Pizza
This recipe is for 10 month old baby & up
Omg, we loved this recipe so much, it is such a hit with both of my kids, and my oldest is not a fan of veggies and she didn’t even know the sweet potato was in there! Whether you’re looking for a new recipe for family pizza night or a healthier alternative to traditional pizzas, this easy sweet potato pizza delivers both flavor and nutrition in a fun, tasty way. Pizza is a universally loved food, and by making it with wholesome ingredients like sweet potatoes, you’re ensuring your child enjoys a meal that’s both tasty and healthy.
What’s great about this pizza it’s very versatile, allowing you to make individual pies so each child can have their own personal creation, adding to the fun of pizza night. You can do a mix of cheeses like mozzarella, ricotta, gruyere, cheddar, etc. and add some pepperoni, olives, steamed broccoli pieces, herbs, whatever you and your little one’s enjoy. This recipe is perfect for lunch or dinner for babies 10 months old, toddlers, older kids and even adults, a great way to sneak more vegetables into your child’s diet, especially if they tend to be picky eaters.
Benefits of Sweet Potato Pizza:
Sweet potatoes are a fantastic ingredient for kids, as they are packed with important nutrients. They are high in Vitamin A, which supports healthy vision and immune function, and also provide fiber, which helps with digestion. The natural sweetness of sweet potatoes makes them appealing to kids, while their rich nutritional content helps fuel growing bodies. They also contain vitamins C, B6, and potassium, which contribute to healthy skin, brain development, and overall energy levels, paired with the cheese, which provides calcium, protein and healthy fats. This recipe can be meal-prepped, if you have any leftovers put them in the freezer and when ready to eat you can heat up for a few seconds in the microwave or reheat in air fryer or oven. Make them mini and add to lunchboxes, along side fruit and veggies!
Substitutions:
All-purpose flour: You can substitute with white whole wheat, whole wheat or spelt.
Sweet Potato: You can substitute with pumpkin puree
Olive oil: I recommend using olive oil for this recipe, but if you don’t have it you can use avocado oil
Pizza Sauce: For pizza sauce you can make homemade or buy a good quality pizza or marinara sauce
Cheese: For a dairy free option you can opt out of putting cheese and just add sauce with preferred toppings or add a dairy-free plant based cheese.

Not sure what I did wrong but my dough is so soggy! Maybe too much water or not enough flour? Or both? I’ll have to try it again 🙁

Hi! Loved this recipe. However when I refrigerated it, after a day the base turned black. Not sure if it’s still safe to eat? It was perfect when baked fresh.

Can you freeze the formed round pizza dough without cooking them first? Then just pull from freezer, add sauce, and toppings and bake.

If I was to freeze an uncooked pizza base, would you defrost overnight?
