Benefits of Copycat Lipton Chicken Noodle Soup for Kids:
Chicken noodle soup is a nutrient-rich, comforting meal that is perfect for kids, whether they’re feeling under the weather or just need a wholesome, balanced meal. Packed with protein, carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals, it provides essential nutrients for growth and development. Here’s why chicken noodle soup is a great choice for kids:
1. Boosts Immunity
Chicken noodle soup is often called “nature’s penicillin” because of its immune-boosting properties. The warm broth helps to soothe sore throats and clear nasal congestion, while the combination of chicken, vegetables, and broth provides essential nutrients like zinc, vitamin C, and antioxidants to support a healthy immune system.
2. Hydration & Comfort for Sick Days
When kids have a cold or flu, staying hydrated is crucial. The broth in chicken noodle soup helps keep them hydrated, while also providing electrolytes like sodium and potassium to maintain fluid balance. The warmth of the soup can also ease congestion and throat irritation, making it a go-to meal for sick days.
3. Packed with Essential Nutrients
Chicken noodle soup contains a variety of ingredients that contribute to a well-balanced diet:
Chicken – Provides high-quality protein for muscle growth and repair.
Noodles – A great source of energy from carbohydrates.
Vegetables (carrots, celery, onion) – Rich in fiber, vitamins, and antioxidants that support digestion and overall health.
Broth – Contains collagen, amino acids, and minerals that promote gut health, joint support, immunity and digestion.
4. Easy to Digest
For kids with sensitive stomachs, chicken noodle soup is a gentle, easy-to-digest meal that doesn’t put stress on the digestive system. The simple, wholesome ingredients make it an excellent option for toddlers and young children, even when they’re feeling unwell.
Tips for the Best Homemade Copycat Lipton Chicken Noodle Soup:
- I used chicken leg quarters to make the soup, with the bones and skin on. This ensures you will get all the good collagen and nutrients from the chicken. Chicken leg quarters is the thigh and drumstick together. I don’t recommend using chicken breast in this recipe.
- You want to simmer the chicken for at least 1 hour and 20-30 minutes. The chicken will literally be falling off the bone and gives a beautiful taste.
- Make sure to blend all the veggies with a little broth and pour back into pot.
- Use small, kid-friendly noodles. The one’s I used are called Fillini.
- If you have any soup left, put in container and freeze. You can thaw and reheat over the stove for another rainy day.
Tips For Serving:
6-9 months of age- blend soup with broth, chicken and noodles. It comes out to a beautiful, golden, creamy puree. The soup is freezer-friendly, I suggest freezing portions of the pureed version for little one’s. Avoid adding salt to the soup.
12 months & up- Serve as is. Everything in the soup is extremely soft and easy to eat.
What you need:
