2-Ingredient Bagel Bites for Kids: Easy, Quick, Kid-Friendly Breakfast Idea for 12 months & up
I keep seeing these 2 ingredient bagel recipes all over the internet and I honestly didn’t know how they would come out, but I was quite surprised. And of course I had to make an easy, simple version that the kids will like. They come out so soft, packed with protein, made with just self-rising flour and whipped cottage cheese. These mini bagels are simple to make, great for easy toddler breakfasts or adding to your freezer for quick heating up.
Why These Bagel Bites Are Perfect for Kids:
Made with Just 2 Ingredients – No yeast, no long rising time—just mix and bake!
Soft For Little One’s- They come out super soft, but are a little doughy. I don’t recommend serving them to under 12 months.
Protein & Calcium-Rich – Supports bone health and muscle growth.
Customizable – You can really top this off with whichever bagel seasonings you and your little one’s like. For example sesame seeds, everything bagel seasoning, cheese, or fruit for variety.
A Fun, Easy Kid-Friendly Breakfast:
These 2-ingredient bagel bites are a quick, easy, and nutritious alternative to traditional bagels. They’re soft, high in protein, and versatile, making them perfect for breakfast, lunchboxes, or snacks. Whether topped with cheese, fruit, avocado, or served plain, they’re a delicious, kid-approved option that parents will love too! I served it to my little one with mashed avocado, strawberries and melon on the side and it was so YUM! Enjoy!
Tips for Success:
-I blended the cottage cheese a little, so there wouldn’t be any small curds in the bagel.
-When combining the ingredients together I used a spatula, till it became a shaggy dough and continued to work it with my hands.
-The dough is sticky you can add flour to the surface you are working on and to your hands when working the dough.
Ingredients & Substitutions:
Self-Rising Flour- This can be replaced with all-purpose flour and 2 tsp baking powder
Whipped Cottage Cheese- We are big fans of cottage cheese in our home, so I preferred this version, but I’ve seen a lot of people making it with full-fat Greek Yogurt and they look just as good.
