ABC Muffins (Apple, Banana, Carrot) for Babies and Toddlers: A Nutritious & Delicious Muffin for 9 Month Baby & Up
These muffins are one of my favorites for little ones, especially if you are practicing baby-led weaning (BLW) or transitioning from purees to solids, you have to give these a try! ABC muffins for baby are made with apple, banana, carrot, and oat flour. They are a fantastic, nutrient-packed snack or breakfast option for babies and toddlers. These muffins are naturally sweetened with fruit, soft in texture, and free from refined sugars, making them a perfect choice for little ones just starting their solid food journey.
Packed with vitamins, fiber, and healthy carbohydrates, these muffins support growth, digestion, and energy levels while offering a fun way to introduce new flavors and textures. Whether you serve them as part of breakfast, a snack, or even a lunchbox treat, ABC Muffins (Apple, Banana, Carrot) are a baby-friendly and family-approved option that parents will love just as much as their little ones!
Why ABC Muffins (Apple, Banana, Carrot) Are Great for Babies and Toddlers:
Nutrient-Dense – Full of vitamins, minerals, and fiber from fruit and veggies.
Naturally Sweetened – No refined sugar, just the goodness of apples, bananas, and carrots.
Soft and Moist Texture – These muffins come out so soft and moist, making it easy for little one’s learning how to chew.
Allergy-Friendly Option – Made with oat flour, making them gluten-free if needed. These are also nut-free and dairy-free.
Easy to Hold – This is literally the most perfect muffin for baby-led weaning (BLW) or independent toddler snacking.
Convenient & Freezer-Friendly – The best part about these is they freeze really well, make a batch and have them on hand through the month. The muffins are great for an on the go snack, travel snack or lunchbox treat.
Nutritional Benefits:
Apple – High in fiber and vitamin C, supports digestion and immunity.
Banana – Provides natural sweetness, potassium, and energy.
Carrot – Rich in beta-carotene for healthy vision and immune support.
Oat Flour – A great source of fiber, aiding digestion and keeping babies full.
Egg – Provides protein and choline for brain development (can be replaced for allergies).
Serving Suggestions for Different Ages:
- 9-12 Months: Serve halved muffins for self-feeding practice or smaller pieces to practice pincer grasp.
- 12+ Months: Serve whole as a nutritious snack or meal side with fruit and yogurt on the side.
- Toddler: Can drizzle some nut butter on top with yogurt on the side.
A Wholesome Muffin for Little Ones:
ABC muffins are a nutrient-rich, soft, and naturally sweetened option for babies and toddlers. They’re easy to make, freezer-friendly, and perfect for BLW or finger foods. Packed with fruit, veggies, and oats, these muffins make mealtime fun and healthy. Whether served fresh, warmed up, or on the go, they’re sure to be a hit!
Substitutions:
I don’t recommend substituting anything in this recipe, the only thing that can be replaced is the egg. To make an egg-free muffin replace with flax egg. For flax egg take 1 tbsp of ground flaxseed with 3-4 tbsp of water, mix and let mixture sit for 15 minutes.
What you need:
I like to use a mini muffin tin to make things easier for babies and toddlers.
