💛 Why This Purée Is Great for Beginners

This apple carrot chicken broth purée checks all the boxes for early eaters:

  • Smooth and easy to swallow

  • Naturally sweet without added sugar

  • Gentle on sensitive stomachs and allergen-friendly

  • Packed with nutrients that support growth

  • Simple ingredients you can feel good about

It’s the kind of recipe you can confidently offer again and again during those early stages of solids.

🥣 Simple, Nourishing Ingredients

This purée is made with just a few wholesome ingredients:

  • Apples for natural sweetness and fiber

  • Carrots for vitamin A and gentle flavor

  • Chicken broth for added nutrients and richness

💪 Nutritional Benefits

Each ingredient plays an important role in supporting your baby’s development:

  • Apples provide fiber for digestion and vitamin C to support the immune system.

  • Carrots are rich in beta-carotene (vitamin A), which supports vision and overall growth.

  • Chicken broth contains minerals and adds a savory depth that helps babies get used to more complex flavors over time.

Because it’s warm, blended, and naturally sweet from the apple, this purée is very easy on the tummy and often well-accepted by babies.

👶 Easy to Make & Serve

Simply cook the apples and carrots until very soft, then blend with warm chicken broth until completely smooth. You can adjust the consistency by adding more broth to make it thinner for beginners, or slightly thicker as your baby becomes more comfortable with textures.

Serve warm (never hot), and always test temperature before offering.

What You Need:

Steamer/Blender– I use an all in one baby steamer and blender.

🔄 Substitutions & Simple Swaps

This apple carrot chicken broth purée can easily be altered to your preferences:

  • Apples: Can be swapped with pear for a similarly gentle, naturally sweet flavor.

  • Carrots: Replace with sweet potato or butternut squash for a slightly creamier texture.

  • Chicken broth: Vegetable broth works well for a vegetarian option. Make sure it’s low-sodium and baby-friendly. You can also use water or breastmilk/formula if preferred.

  • Consistency: Add more broth or water to thin the purée, or blend thicker as baby progresses with textures.
