Naturally Sweetened – No added sugar, just fruit for sweetness.
Soft & Moist – This healthy dessert for babies comes out so soft and moist, making it easy for little ones to chew and swallow.
Nutrient-Packed – Bananas provide potassium, oranges offer vitamin C.
Perfect for Baby-Led Weaning (BLW) – For 9 months & up you can cut up some smaller pieces and have baby practiced their pincer grasp.
Freezer-Friendly – This loaf freezes great, I recommend slicing it up, adding to a Ziplock and when ready to eat, pull one out and heat up, making your week a little easier.
Orange Juice- You can use freshly squeezed or store-bought orange juice.
Bananas- I don't recommend replacing the bananas in this recipe, that is what gives flavor and makes it sweet. I recommend using very ripe bananas, the riper the banana the sweeter the loaf will be.
Whole milk plain yogurt- You can use greek yogurt or a non-dairy yogurt, like coconut yogurt.
Eggs- I haven't played around with this recipe, so I have not done an egg-free version yet.
Orange Zest- This is a must in the recipe, if you omit the zest you won't get a nice orange flavor.
Melted Butter- This can be substituted with any neutral oil or coconut oil.
White Spelt Flour- I have been loving this flour, but if you can't find it you can use all-purpose, white whole wheat or self-rising flour. If using self-rising flour, do not add baking powder.
