Banana Peanut Butter Sweet Potato Puree

Banana, Peanut Butter, and Sweet Potato Purée: A Creamy and Nutritious Treat for Babies 6 months & up

Wow, this is one of our favorite puree combinations! I myself was licking the spoon and I know you and your baby will too! The combination goes incredible together and comes out so smooth and creamy. It’s almost like a yummy dessert for your little one. This combination creates a naturally sweet, creamy, and protein-packed meal that is perfect for babies and toddlers. Packed with healthy fats, fiber, vitamins, and minerals, this purée supports brain development, digestion, and sustained energy, making it a great addition to your little one’s diet.

The natural sweetness of white sweet potatoes and bananas blends beautifully with the rich, nutty flavor of peanut butter, creating a silky pudding that’s both satisfying and packed with nutrients. White sweet potatoes are a great source of fiber, vitamins, and antioxidants, while bananas provide potassium and a natural sweetness that eliminates the need for added sugars. Peanut butter adds healthy fats and protein, making this pudding a filling snack or dessert. It’s easy to prepare by simply blending the cooked sweet potato, banana, and peanut butter together until smooth. This wholesome pudding offers a perfect balance of flavors and nutrients, making it delicious and healthy!

Why This Purée is Great for Babies

  1. Naturally Sweet and Creamy – The banana and sweet potato add a smooth texture and mild sweetness, making it enjoyable for babies.
  2. Packed with Nutrients – It’s rich in vitamin A, potassium, fiber, protein, and healthy fats, all essential for growth and development.
  3. Easy to Digest – Each ingredient is gentle on the stomach and supports healthy digestion.
  4. Great for Introducing Allergens – Peanut butter is a common allergen, and this purée provides a safe way to introduce it early. I recommend starting with a small amount and gradually increasing.

Benefits of Each Ingredient

  • Sweet Potato – High in vitamin A, fiber, and potassium, supporting vision, digestion, and overall growth.
  • Banana – Naturally sweet, easy to digest, and a great source of potassium, vitamin C, and fiber.
  • Peanut Butter – Adds healthy fats and protein, essential for brain development and muscle growth.

Substitutions:

Sweet Potato- I used a white hannah sweet potato, but any sweet potato will work.

Banana- I don’t recommend replacing the banana in this recipe, it gives creaminess and sweetness.

Peanut Butter- This can be replaced with any nut or seed butter of choice, for example almond butter or sunflower seed butter.

Breastmilk- For liquid you can use water, breastmilk or formula.

What you need:

A steamer and blender- I recommend the Beaba Baby cook or any other baby cook of choice to make cooking process easier.
