I have been obsessed with all things apple lately and this yummy apple bowl embraces the full flavors of the season, while being warm, comforting and easy on the stomach. I am always looking for yummy, healthy snack, breakfast or dessert ideas for the kids and I to share, I cannot even describe the explosion of flavors you get with every bite, while nourishing your body at the same time. This will be a favorite and is such a treat for adults, older kids, toddlers and babies.
First you warm up soft, cooked apples in coconut oil with a sprinkle of cinnamon, which fills the kitchen with that comforting fall aroma. When you cook apples they release a special fiber that is extremely healing to the gut and great for immune support, and paired with the coconut oil, which adds a coconutty flavor and healthy fats, this dish is not only tasty, but healing towards the body. You then add it on top of yogurt, which gives calcium, vitamin D & protein, along with peanut or almond butter, adding more protein & healthy fats and a sprinkle of hemp seeds, promoting healthy digestion, gut health, plant based protein and more. Who knew this delicious apple bowl can be so good for you!
TIP:
You can customize your bowl and your baby's bowl however you like. For myself i like to add some pumpkin seeds or granola for a crunch and drizzle some almond butter and for baby you can mash or puree the apples and add it on top of the yogurt with your choice of nut butter.
Substitutions:
Yogurt: For dairy-free option you can substitute yogurt with any plant based yogurt you like
Date syrup: If your little ones are older than 12 months you can substitute date syrup with honey or maple syrup
Hemp Seeds: You can have fun with this, if you don't have hemp seeds add chia seeds, ground flaxseeds, whatever you have on hand
Peanut Butter: Substitute with any nut or seed butter of your choice
Best glass bowls for mom and baby yogurt bowls are the
Beaba Glass Meal Set, it lasts forever and has suction on the bottom, goes out of stock very quickly, so snag it while you can.
