Homemade White Bread (No eggs, no sesame, no dairy, no nuts)

There’s something extra special about homemade white bread. It’s soft, fluffy, and incredibly comforting, made with good, clean ingredients, everything store-bought bread wishes it could be. While this recipe does take a little time thanks to rising and baking, the steps themselves are simple and approachable, even if you’re new to bread making. The end result? A loaf that’s so delicious, perfectly soft, and versatile enough for everything from breakfast toast to sandwiches.

This homemade white bread is made without sesame, eggs, dairy, or nuts, making it a great option for families navigating allergies or looking for a simple, classic loaf with clean ingredients. It’s mild in flavor, kid-friendly, and has that tender crumb that makes each slice irresistible.

Why This Bread Works for Allergy-Friendly Households

Finding a soft, classic white bread that’s safe for allergy-friendly homes can be surprisingly difficult. Many store-bought loaves contain hidden allergens like milk, eggs, sesame, or traces of nuts from shared facilities. This homemade white toast is made with simple, straightforward ingredients, making it a great option for families navigating food allergies.

  • No dairy, eggs, nuts, or sesame: This recipe is naturally free from some of the most common allergens, making it suitable for many allergy-conscious households.

  • Easy to control ingredients: When you bake at home, you know exactly what’s going into your bread. No preservatives, hidden additives, or surprise allergens.

  • Great for school lunches and shared spaces: Because it avoids major allergens, it’s a safer choice for lunchboxes, playdates, and family gatherings where allergies may be a concern.

  • Still soft and flavorful: Even without eggs or dairy, this bread comes out fluffy, tender, and delicious. Perfect for toast, sandwiches, and grilled cheese.

This loaf proves that allergy-friendly baking doesn’t have to be complicated or compromise on taste and texture.

So Many Ways to Enjoy It

This homemade white bread is incredibly versatile and works for any meal of the day.

  • Toast it and spread with butter and jam for a classic breakfast

  • Use it for deli-style sandwiches with meats, veggies, and spreads

  • Turn it into the ultimate grilled cheese, crisp on the outside and soft inside

  • Make French toast (using your preferred egg-free method if needed)

  • Serve alongside soups or stews for dipping

Storage Tips:

This homemade white bread stores beautifully and stays soft for days when stored properly.

  • Room temperature: This bread has no preservatives. Store sliced or unsliced bread in an airtight container for no more than 24 hours.

  • Refrigerator: I don’t recommend putting this bread in the refrigerator, this will dry it out.

  • Freezer: Freezer is the best option on keeping your bread exactly how it is for the longest amount of time. Slice the loaf once fully cooled, then freeze in a freezer-safe bag for up to 2 months. Toast slices straight from frozen for best results.
