I recommend taking it out and flipping the chicken halfway through the hour mark, so that way the other side can get the same amount of flavor. I usually take out the parchment paper from the top and let it cook for an additional 10-15 minutes without any cover.
Substitutions:
Bone-in Chicken Thighs (skin on)- I noticed whenever I cook the chicken with the bone and skin it comes out the most tender and softest. I have tried boneless chicken thighs as well and although it does work, it was a little harder for my little one to chew. If you do use it cook time will be a lot less.
Low Sodium Soy Sauce- In case of a soy allergy, you can swap with coconut aminos.
Honey- The honey goes perfectly with the sauce in this recipe, but if you prefer you can replace with date syrup.
Broccoli- You can omit the broccoli or replace with bell peppers, green beans or snap peas.
Garlic & Ginger- Don’t remove this from the sauce! It gives the most beautiful flavor, without it, it won’t be complete.
