Substitutions:

White rice- I used long-grain white rice, you can use jasmine, basmati, short grain white rice.

Broccoli- I recommend putting the broccoli, but you can omit if preferred.

Carrot- Same with the carrot you swap for another vegetable, or omit.

Onion- The onion adds a nice flavor, if you and your kids don’t like onion flavoring you can omit if preferred.

Cheese- You can use any type of shredded cheese, I like cheddar for this particular recipe.

Cream cheese- This adds a touch of creaminess, you can swap with ricotta or farmers cheese.

Olive oil for cooking- You can use any neutral oil or butter.

What You Need:

Grater

Non-stick deep pan– I like to use the Our Place Titanium One. The rice comes out perfect every time.

My 2 year old loved it. However, you need double the water for 1 cup of rice compared to what is listed in the recipe.

Hi Olga, that is depending on your pot and stovetop and how you like your rice. I always put 1 cup rice to 1 1/2 cups water, but some like to put 2 cups water to 1 cup rice. It’s totally up to you!
