Pizza Roll Ups

Easy Toddler Lunch: Pizza Roll Ups

When it comes to feeding toddlers, quick, easy, and fun meals are always a win. Some days, you just don’t have the time or energy to cook from scratch and that’s when pizza roll ups come to the rescue. Made with just a slice of bread, some marinara or pizza sauce, and a sprinkle of cheese, these little rolls are ready in under 10 minutes and are always a hit with little ones. They’re soft, tasty, and finger-friendly, perfect for toddlers who love foods they can hold and dip.

Why Pizza Roll Ups Work for Toddlers:

Toddlers love familiar flavors, and pizza is a classic that rarely disappoints. These roll ups bring all the cheesy, saucy flavors of pizza into a fun, bite-sized form that’s easy for little hands to manage. The best part? You don’t need any special dough or complicated steps, just a slice of bread and a few pantry staples.

Not only are they quick, but they’re also versatile. You can serve them plain or with a little dipping sauce, pair them with fruit or veggies on the side, and you have a complete toddler-friendly meal in minutes.

Serving Suggestions:

  • Pair with extra marinara sauce on the side for dipping. Toddlers love dipping, it makes the meal interactive and fun.

  • For this easy toddler lunch add fruit slices like apple, strawberries, or melon for a sweet balance.

  • Include veggie sticks such as cucumber slices, bell peppers, or steamed carrot sticks for color and crunch.

Substitutions:

  • Bread: Use whole wheat, multigrain, or gluten-free bread depending on your toddler’s needs. Tortillas also work for a thinner, wrap-style roll up.

  • Sauce: Swap marinara with pesto, cream cheese, or even mashed avocado for variety.

  • Cheese: Use any melt-friendly cheese, cheddar, Monterey Jack, or dairy-free cheese alternatives.

  • Add-ins: Tuck in tiny pieces of spinach, finely diced bell peppers, or cooked chicken before rolling for extra nutrition.

  • Butter/Oil: Swap with olive oil spray or avocado oil spray.

Notes

Storage instructions- Pizza roll ups are best enjoyed fresh out of the toaster oven or air fryer, when they’re warm and crispy on the outside. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator and eat within 24 hours. Reheat in the toaster oven or air fryer for a few minutes to bring back the crispiness.

What a great idea! Just made them within 10 minutes since I didn’t feel like cooking today and my 1 year old loved them!

  • Paulina

Is this something that can be made ahead and put in the freezer?

Hi Paulina, I don’t recommend freezing these. This is more for a quick lunch in the moment.
