🥧 Serving Tip: The Full Apple Pie Cookie Feel
For an extra cozy touch, drizzle or spread a little plain yogurt on top before serving. It adds a creamy element that makes these cookies feel just like mini apple pie cookies, especially fun for toddlers and older kids.
🍪 How to Serve
These soft baked apple pie cookies are delicious on their own, but they’re also easy to dress up depending on who you’re serving.
For toddlers (12 months & up): Serve plain or with a small side of plain yogurt for dipping. The yogurt adds creaminess and helps create that cozy apple pie cookie feel.
For kids: Drizzle a little yogurt on top
For adults: Enjoy one (or two!) alongside a hot cup of coffee or tea, they’re lightly sweet, comforting, and perfect for an afternoon snack.
Whether served simply or dressed up, these cookies fit seamlessly into snack time, breakfast, or dessert.
Substitutions:
Flour: You can use all-purpose flour, white spelt flour or white whole wheat
Avocado oil: Can be replaced with melted coconut oil or another neutral oil.
Maple syrup: Honey can be used for children over 1 year old.
Apples: Any sweet apple works well Gala, Fuji, or Honeycrisp are great choices. Just be sure to dice them very small for a soft texture.
Oats: I do not recommend replacing the oats in this recipe. They play a big role in the soft, slightly crumbly texture.
