Funfetti Banana Bread

๐ŸŒˆ Funfetti Banana Bread

Thereโ€™s something about banana bread that always feels comforting, but this Funfetti Banana Bread takes it to another level. It has all the soft, fluffy, moist goodness of classic banana bread with a fun colorful twist that makes kids so excited to eat it. I honestly think this might be the best banana bread recipe Iโ€™ve made so far and thatโ€™s saying a lot because we make banana bread often over here.

This recipe started as a way to make an everyday snack feel a little more special without turning it into a full dessert. I wanted something made with nourishing ingredients that still felt fun and exciting for kids, and adding dye-free sprinkles was such a simple way to do that. The result is a beautiful loaf that looks festive but is still made with ingredients I feel good about serving.

And let me tell you, kids absolutely love this one! One of my favorite things about this recipe is that everyone eats it. Toddlers, older kids, and adults all love it, which honestly feels rare sometimes. Itโ€™s one of those recipes that feels fun and exciting for kids while still being made with ingredients that leave you feeling good about serving it. Soft, fluffy, moist, colorful, and loaded with banana flavor, this Funfetti Banana Bread is one of those recipes youโ€™ll find yourself making again and again.

And donโ€™t be surprised if it becomes your favorite banana bread too. ๐ŸŒˆ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿง

๐Ÿ”„ Substitutions

This banana bread is very flexible and easy to adjust with what you have on hand:

  • Bananas: Very ripe bananas work best for sweetness and moisture. If needed, you can substitute a portion with unsweetened applesauce, though bananas give the best flavor and texture.
  • Milk: Any milk works well including whole milk, oat milk, almond milk, soy milk, or coconut milk.
  • Butter: Substitute with avocado oil, melted coconut oil, or another neutral oil.
  • Eggs: You can substitute each egg with a flax egg (1 tablespoon ground flaxseed + 3 tablespoons water), though the loaf may be slightly less fluffy.
  • Maple Syrup: Honey can be used for children over 12 months, or omit slightly if your bananas are extra sweet.
  • White Spelt Flour: All-purpose flour works perfectly as a 1:1 substitute. White whole wheat flour can also be used but may create a slightly denser loaf.
  • Cinnamon: Optional and can be omitted.
  • Dye-Free Sprinkles: Any sprinkles work, or simply leave them out for a classic banana bread version.
