Lazy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookie Sticks

Lazy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookie Sticks 🍪🥛

(The easiest cookies you’ll ever make!)

If you’re looking for a quick, better-for-you dessert for kids, these Lazy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookie Sticks are about to become your new favorite recipe. They are soft, chewy, naturally sweetened with maple syrup and made with just a handful of simple ingredients you probably already have at home.

The best part? These cookies are incredibly easy to make. There’s no chilling the dough, no rolling into cookie balls, and no shaping individual cookies. You simply mix everything in one bowl, spread the batter onto a baking tray, bake, and slice into sticks. That’s it.

They’re honestly the laziest way to make cookies and sometimes those are the best kinds of recipes for busy parents.

The cookie sticks come out soft, slightly chewy from the oats, and perfectly sweet with chocolate chips throughout. Because they’re sliced into long sticks instead of traditional cookies, they’re also perfect for dipping into milk, which makes snack time even more fun for kids.

Another reason parents love these cookies is that they’re made without refined sugar. Instead of white sugar, the recipe uses maple syrup for natural sweetness. Combined with oats, butter, and a little vanilla, the flavor is warm, cozy, and absolutely delicious.

Why Kids Love These Lazy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookie Sticks ❤️

These cookies are always a hit with little ones because:

  • They’re soft and chewy
  • The chocolate chips make them feel like a treat
  • The stick shape is fun and easy to hold
  • Perfect for dipping in milk

For toddlers and younger kids, the stick shape also makes them easy to grip and eat independently.

Perfect for Kids and Toddlers:

These cookie sticks make a great:

  • After-school snack
  • Lunchbox treat
  • Dessert for toddlers, without the refined sugar and preservatives
  • Weekend baking activity with kids

Because they’re sliced into bars, you can also easily cut them smaller for younger toddlers.

Why Parents Love This Recipe:

Parents love these cookies because they are:

  • Quick and easy
  • Made with simple pantry ingredients
  • No refined sugar
  • Perfect for meal prep snacks

And the best part? You can leave them in a container on the countertop for up to 5 days, making them a great grab-and-go snack throughout the week.

Tips for Success 🍪✨

  • Don’t overmix the batter. Stir just until everything is combined so the cookie sticks stay soft and tender.
  • Line your baking tray with parchment paper for easy removal and clean slicing.
  • Press the batter evenly into the pan so they bake uniformly.
  • Don’t overbake. Remove when the edges are lightly golden, they will continue to set as they cool.
  • Let them cool completely before slicing to prevent crumbling.

Substitutions 🔄

These Lazy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookie Sticks are very forgiving!

  • Flour: You can substitute all-purpose flour with white spelt flour or a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend.
  • Butter: Swap for melted coconut oil if preferred.
  • Maple syrup: Can substitute with honey (12 months & up).
  • Oats: Instant oats or rolled oats both work. If using rolled oats and prefer a softer texture, pulse them slightly in a blender first.
  • Chocolate chips: Use dark chocolate chips, mini chips, or chopped chocolate. You can also reduce the amount if desired.
