๐ Cherries ‘n Cream Popsicles
There is nothing better than opening the freezer on a hot summer day and having homemade popsicles waiting for you. These Cherries ‘n Cream Popsicles have quickly become one of our family’s favorite summer treats, and honestly, they disappeared so fast that we ate the entire batch in just one day! They’re incredibly creamy, naturally sweet, and made with just a few wholesome ingredients, making them a dessert I feel good about serving.
What I love most about these popsicles is how simple they are. With frozen cherries, full-fat coconut milk, and a little honey, you can create a rich, creamy frozen treat that tastes like something you’d buy from an ice cream shop. They’re refreshing, packed with cherry flavor, and so satisfying on a warm afternoon, plus they are allergen-friendly and naturally dairy-free.
To make them even more fun, I like to swirl in a little “cream” mixture made from coconut milk, honey, and a splash of vanilla extract. It’s completely optional, but it gives the popsicles that beautiful cherries-and-cream look that kids absolutely love. Watching the creamy swirls appear throughout each popsicle makes them feel extra special.

๐ฟ Simple, Nutritious Ingredients
Every ingredient serves a purpose while keeping these popsicles wholesome.
Frozen Cherries
Cherries provide natural sweetness, beautiful color, fiber, vitamin C, and antioxidants. They also create the bold fruity flavor that makes these popsicles so irresistible.
Full-Fat Coconut Milk
Using full-fat coconut milk gives these popsicles their rich, creamy texture while providing healthy fats that help make them satisfying.
Honey
A little honey naturally sweetens the popsicles without needing refined sugar. (Remember, honey should only be served to children over 12 months.)
Vanilla & Coconut Cream Swirl (Optional)
Mixing a little coconut milk with honey and vanilla extract creates a beautiful creamy swirl throughout the popsicles. It adds a subtle vanilla flavor and gives them that classic “cherries and cream” appearance.
๐ Fresh or Frozen Cherries?
Frozen cherries are my favorite because they’re convenient, already pitted, and blend into a perfectly smooth mixture.
You can absolutely use fresh cherries if they’re in season. Just keep in mind that you’ll need to remove all of the pits before blending, which takes a little extra time. Once they’re pitted, simply blend using the same measurements in the recipe.
๐ซ Make Them Extra Special
For older kids (and adults!), try drizzling the finished popsicles with a little melted dark or milk chocolate.
The chocolate hardens almost instantly against the frozen popsicle and pairs so well with the sweet cherries and creamy coconut. It’s completely optional, but it takes these popsicles to another level and makes them feel like a special summer dessert.
โ๏ธ The Perfect Summer Treat
Whether you’re cooling off after playing outside, looking for a healthier dessert, or simply wanting something refreshing to keep in the freezer, these Cherries ‘n Cream Popsicles are a must-make.
They’re creamy, fruity, incredibly easy to prepare, and made with wholesome ingredients the whole family can enjoy. Don’t be surprised if your batch disappears as quickly as ours did, they’re simply that good!
๐ Substitutions
These popsicles are easy to customize depending on what you have on hand.
- Frozen Cherries: Fresh cherries work just as well, just be sure to remove all of the pits before blending.
- Full-Fat Coconut Milk: Full-fat canned coconut milk gives the creamiest texture and best flavor, but you can substitute with heavy cream, 1/2 whole milk and 1/2 full-fat yogurt if you don’t need the recipe to be dairy-free.
- Honey: For children over 12 months, honey works beautifully. You can also substitute with maple syrup or agave syrup if preferred.
