Potato Egg Tater Tots – A Simple, Nutritious Snack for little ones 8 Months & Up

When it comes to easy baby-led weaning (BLW) recipes, you can’t go wrong with these Potato Egg Tater Tots. These tots are one of my favorite recipes for babies 8 months and up, especially if you’re just starting the transition from purées to firmer textures. They are incredibly simple to make, just boiled potato, boiled egg, shredded cheese, and a quick bake in the oven.

The texture is soft and easy for little hands to pick up, while still firm enough to hold together, making them ideal for BLW. Not only are they baby-friendly, but they’re also a snack that toddlers can enjoy with a side dip of ketchup. These little tots are versatile, nutritious, and perfect for any time of day, making them great for daycare lunchboxes as well.

Ingredients

Adjust Servings
1 large or 2 small gold potatoes
2 eggs
3/4 cup shredded cheese

Directions

In 2 seperate small pots boil eggs for 10 minutes and potatoes covered for 15 minutes or until soft
Mark as complete

Add potatoes and hard boiled eggs to bowl and mash

Scoop small portions with a tablespoon, shape into mini tots, and place on a parchment-lined baking tray
You also have the option to form balls and serve as is to younger babies

Notes

Storage Tips Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or toaster oven until warmed through. These tots also freeze well! Simply freeze on a tray, transfer to a bag, and bake straight from frozen for a quick snack.
